Major Compliance solution provider experienced significant performance improvement by Migrating to OCI

Challenges

  • Customer wanted to migrate their on-prem servers from Offis and CenturyLink to OCI cloud in UK and AU region for improved scalability with Terraform for OCI and cost-efficiency
  • Additionally, they also wanted a Disaster recovery setup for entire infrastructure.

Our Solution

  • The preliminary feasibility assessment revealed that OCI offers all the essential services and operating systems required for the migration.
  • Developed a carcass of the required infrastructure in Terraform comprising of VCN, Subnets, security groups, route tables, instance modules, VM instances, load balancers and also a site-to-site VPN between the on-prem network and OCI to facilitate the migration.
  • Created 30 VMs in UK-South London (primary) and UK-West Newport (Disaster Recovery)
  • Created 76 VMs in AU-Sydney (primary) and AU-Melbourne (Disaster Recovery) mimicking the on-prem infra with daily backups configured.
  • Performed dry runs with test sites and mock data post which implemented migration of all sites to OCI.
